Blair Atholl is famous for Blair Castle the ancient home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl and the home of Europe's only private army, the Atholl Highlanders.

The wild glens and mountains around Blair Atholl are the southern edge of the Cairngorms massif and is now within the Cairngorms National Park .

There is a local museum and working Watermill.
as a base for exploring further afield Blair Atholl is well placed with Aviemore, Inverness, Perth and Edinburgh within driving distances.

Pitlochry is only a 15 minute drive away with numerous cafes and shops. There are also two distilleries in Pitlochry and tours can be booked and samples tasted!
Pitlochry is the home of the Festival Theatre.

Highland Perthshire is the geographic centre of Scotland.
The historic town of Dunkeld is 13 miles to the south of Pitlochry, Aberfeldy is 14 miles to its southwest and 6 miles further the village of Kenmore on the eastern tip of Loch Tay are all within easy reach.
